ChirpKurt sighed as he stared down at his History text book, not really paying attention to the words written in it. He must have read the current sentence he was at least twelve times and he still didn't know what it said. His mind kept wandering off to other things that deemed more important.

"The question is what is with you." Blaine grabbed his book and sat up just long enough to put in under his back.

"Blaine! I need to finish that chapter by tomorrow!" protested Kurt.

"You study too much. You're starting to remind me of Hermione Granger," said Blaine.

"Way better hair," said Blaine. This made Kurt's face heat up, though it shouldn't. Go

Overdue Duet"You owe me a duet." Blaine glanced up from his Organic Chemistry homework to the windowsill where Kurt sat. It was snowing outside.

"So I do." It was a Friday, and their roommates were visiting their families for the weekend. Blaine set aside his homework. "So? What'll it be? I'm afraid I'll need to go through the karaoke sets on my iPod since Wes still has my guitar."

"How long has he had it?" Kurt laughed. "I don't know. Surprise me, I guess." So he was going to make this difficult. Blaine scrolled aimlessly through his playlists.

"I'm kind of in a holiday mood," he said nonchalantly. "Is that okay?"

Blaine shut the yellow lamp that used to bathe the room in a warm glow murmuring a tired goodnight. Staring off into the dark Kurt dwelled on his past the pale moonlight giving a ghostly glow on his pale skin. Sitting on his bedside table was an old faded collage of magazine clippings. Kurt could still see the colorful clippings that spelt out "Courage." He closed his eyes to picture his past.

Kurt Hummel led an extraordinary life in the eyes of everyone around him. Hell, in his eyes, his life was pretty damn good. He had an incredible job that paid him more than enough to live comfortably; he had good friends, and still remained close to his family after moving to New York. Still, he couldn't shake the feeling of loneliness. Was it too much to ask for one date? One decent man to approach him and ask him to dinner, was that really an absurd longing?
